"Just Let Him Die"... Trump Sparks Controversy with Harsh Words to Nephew's Son

Trump's Nephew Publishes Memoir, Reveals Trump Anecdotes
"Claims He Used Racist Terms in His Youth"

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the upcoming U.S. presidential election this November, has been accused of telling his nephew to "let his disabled son die." On the 24th (local time), British media The Guardian and news magazine Time reported that Fred C. Trump III (hereafter Fred), the nephew of former President Trump, revealed various anecdotes related to Trump in his upcoming book "All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way." Fred is the son of Trump’s brother, Frederick Christ Trump Jr.

In particular, Fred claims in the book that his uncle, former President Trump, told him to leave his disabled son to die and move to Florida. Fred’s third son, William, born in 1999, was diagnosed with a rare disease causing a disability just three months after birth. According to Fred’s disclosure, when he ran out of money to treat his son, he called Trump in 2020 to ask for financial support.

Trump reportedly paused, sighed, and said, "I don’t know. Your son doesn’t recognize you. Maybe just let him die and move to Florida." Reacting to his uncle’s words, Fred explained, "Wait, what did my uncle just say? My son doesn’t recognize me? I should just let my son die? Did he really say that?"

Additionally, during a conversation about medical funding, Trump asked about William’s condition. Fred said, "I wasn’t exactly sure, but when I told him the doctors said it was a genetic problem, my uncle was taken aback." Fred claims Trump responded, "That’s not how our family is. There’s nothing wrong with our genes."

Fred also revealed in an article contributed to Time magazine that during Trump’s presidency, he repeatedly said things about disabled people like "those kinds of people should just die or be left to die." In his memoir, Fred pointed out that Trump once got angry over a scratch on his Cadillac Eldorado convertible and, without knowing who the culprit was, accused suspicious individuals while repeatedly using the racial slur "N-word" to demean Black people.

Earlier, Fred’s sister Mary also exposed in her 2020 book titled "Too Much and Never Enough" that Trump made disparaging remarks about Black people. Regarding Fred’s revelations and his new book, The Washington Post described the Trump family gatherings depicted in the book as "nightmarish, as if they are competing to see who can be the worst person," and called it "a chronically toxic, narcissistic, cunning, and cruel unpleasant portrait of the Trump family generation."
