First, Mayor Kim Jangho of Gumi visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which is currently reviewing departmental budgets, and held separate meetings with Budget Director Kim Dongil, General Budget Review Officer Yoo Byungseo, and Economic Budget Review Officer Kang Yunjin. He explained the necessity and justification of next year's major projects, such as the Semiconductor Complete Ecosystem Creation Project (Advanced Semiconductor Materials and Parts Complex Construction), the Construction of the Specialized Industrial Complex Integrated Care and Education Center, and the Bridge Connecting Gumi National Industrial Complexes 1 to 3. He requested government funding support for these initiatives.
At the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, he met with Han Soonki, Director General for Local Finance and Economy, and others to propose the expansion of general grants in response to the decrease in corporate tax revenue, as well as special grant support for infrastructure projects related to the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships. In a meeting with Cho Youngjin, Director General for Local Administration, he proposed attracting the Saemaeul Undong Central Association and Training Center to Gumi and selecting Gumi for the 'Model City for Bicycles' project competition.
Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "It is more difficult than ever to secure government funding due to the recent decrease in national tax revenue and the government's fiscal soundness policy, but we will make all-out efforts to build future growth engines," adding, "We will mobilize all administrative resources until next year's government budget is finalized."
