Winner Qualifies for 40th Shinhan Donghae Open in September

An amateur tournament will be established to nurture promising golf talents who will lead the future of Korean golf.

Shinhan Financial Group Establishes Men's Amateur Championship

Shinhan Financial Group announced on the 25th that it will launch the Shinhan Donghae Men's Amateur Championship, organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA). The inaugural tournament will be held over four days starting from the 30th at Aurora Golf & Resort (Par 70, 6,350m) in Wonju, Gangwon Province. A total of 112 participants, including national representatives, national team reserves, and top amateur players representing Korea, will compete.


The competition format is a 4-round, 72-hole stroke play. After a 36-hole qualifying round, 66 players will advance to the final round (36 holes). Top finishers will receive various benefits and prizes, including points for national team selection. The winner will participate in the 40th Shinhan Donghae Open of the Korean Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, which opens on September 5 at Club72 in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.


Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, said, "This tournament was created to support amateur players and nurture Korea’s golf prospects. I hope it becomes a stepping stone for domestic golf talents to grow further and advance to bigger stages."
