Samsung SDS announced on the 25th that its sales for the second quarter of this year were preliminarily estimated at 3.369 trillion KRW, a 2.4% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period rose 7.1% to 220.9 billion KRW.
Sales in the IT services sector were recorded at 1.5864 trillion KRW, a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.
In particular, cloud business sales reached 556 billion KRW, up 25.1% year-on-year, driven by continuous surging demand. Within the cloud business, the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP)-based CSP business is seeing increased sales due to the expansion of subscription-based GPU services (GPUaaS) for high-performance computing (HPC) and generative AI.
The cloud management service (MSP) business is growing centered on cloud migration in the financial sector, generative artificial intelligence (AI), and data platform businesses. Additionally, sales of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions also increased.
Sales in the logistics business sector were recorded at 1.7826 trillion KRW, a 0.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The digital logistics platform Cello Square surpassed 14,800 subscribed companies, recording sales of 284.9 billion KRW.
Meanwhile, Samsung SDS plans to actively expand its enterprise generative AI service business in the second half of the year through ▲ FabriX, a generative AI service platform that accelerates corporate hyper-automation, and ▲ Brity Copilot, which utilizes generative AI in work collaboration solutions such as mail, meetings, and messenger.
