On the 25th, Hanwha Construction Division announced that it had signed a business agreement with the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center for "Construction Workforce Development and Support for Partner Company Recruitment." Representatives from Hanwha Construction Division and the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center attended the signing ceremony held the previous day.
The agreement was established to support job seekers in the construction field, including low-income groups in Seoul, by offering programs such as recruitment of outstanding talents from partner companies in addition to the regular courses at the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center.
The Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center’s daytime courses in "Modern Architectural Construction" and "Building Maintenance" will be conducted over five months from September this year to January next year for about 60 trainees. This curriculum consists of a total of 620 hours of construction-related education, including painting, tiling, waterproofing, wallpapering, masonry, carpentry, wooden architecture construction, and architectural BIM.
Hanwha Construction Division will hold recruitment briefings with partner companies for trainees enrolled in these courses to provide employment opportunities. This is intended to offer partner companies a chance to secure outstanding talent.
Trainees who complete the education will carry out home repair volunteer activities to improve living environments by visiting vulnerable households in Seoul, applying the skills they have acquired. Hanwha Construction Division will support the materials needed for the home repairs.
A special lecture will be held by inviting a company representative who graduated from the same course at the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center and is pioneering new areas through entrepreneurship. Through a "Networking Brunch" session with industry professionals, trainees will be supported in exploring various opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
Jeon Chang-su, Head of HR Support at Hanwha Construction Division, said, "Based on Hanwha Group’s ‘Together, Far’ spirit, we aim to provide high-quality educational programs to job seekers in the construction field and offer partner companies opportunities to secure outstanding talent even in difficult business environments. We will strive to make this program an excellent example of cooperation between companies and local governments."
Kim Kang-yeol, Director of the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center, said, "We hope that this collaboration will nurture high-quality construction personnel and contribute to the construction industry sector in our country."
Those wishing to enroll in the training courses can apply through the Seoul Eastern Technical Training Center website until the 16th of next month. After an interview screening, the final successful candidates will be announced in August. Any Seoul citizen wishing to work in the construction field can participate.
