The National Gwangju Science Museum will open the 'Water Science Experience Center,' where visitors can enjoy a vacation in the city, on the 26th of this month.
Recognized as a representative water playground in the region, the Water Science Experience Center at the National Gwangju Science Museum will operate from the 26th of this month until the 25th of next month. It features various water play facilities such as a large pool, water slide, rolling water ball, pedal boats, and floor fountains, as well as a self-guided experience area where visitors can explore the science of water and the principle of buoyancy. Additionally, the center is fully prepared for safe operation with amenities including shower rooms and professional staff holding lifeguard and nursing certifications.
During the operation of the Water Science Experience Center, filters will run continuously, pools will be cleaned daily before opening, and the facility will operate in an overflow pool system. The large pool will be completely replaced once a week. Water quality is monitored daily through internal inspections with partial water replacement as needed, and biweekly water quality tests are conducted by specialized inspection agencies to ensure a pleasant water play environment.
The Water Science Experience Center operates three sessions daily (each session lasting 2 hours, accommodating 250 people) from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM every day except Monday. Visitors can use the facility by making an online reservation in advance or purchasing tickets on-site. For safety reasons, children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian.
