Amicogen (CEO Park Cheol), a specialized company in biopharmaceuticals and bio materials, announced on the 25th that it has launched ‘Daegwanjeol Manbocheonbo,’ the first health functional food in Korea recognized for triple functionality in joint and cartilage health.
The name of the new product, ‘Daegwanjeol Manbocheonbo,’ carries a special meaning. ‘Daegwanjeol’ literally means joint, but it also implies “to get straight to the point without further ado,” reflecting the company’s intention to provide consumers with a wise choice amid the flood of joint and cartilage functional foods.
This product completes a perfect triple design for joint and cartilage health by combining essential ingredients for joint health and Amicogen’s proprietary eco-friendly fully fermented enzyme process to produce natural materials such as N-Acetylglucosamine (NAG), mucopolysaccharides and proteins (chondroitin), and Boswellia extract. It contains 500mg of N-Acetylglucosamine, 1200mg of mucopolysaccharides and proteins, and 400mg of the Boswellia extract complex. Additionally, it features an easy-to-swallow powder formulation that can be conveniently consumed once a day.
All three key ingredients have been proven effective through human application tests in improving various indicators related to joints and cartilage, such as knee joint pain, stair climbing ability, osteoarthritis, and walking ability. In particular, N-Acetylglucosamine is extracted from 100% domestically sourced Hongge crab shells and manufactured using Amicogen’s patented eco-friendly enzyme process, enhancing both safety and efficacy. This ingredient is also found in breast milk and colostrum, making it a safe component for consumption.
A representative from K-Nutra stated, “Daegwanjeol Manbocheonbo will be an attractive choice for those concerned about joint health. As the first joint and cartilage health functional food in Korea to combine these three key ingredients, we confidently say it is a perfect product. We recommend consistent management of precious joints and cartilage, which are difficult to recover once damaged, through ‘Daegwanjeol Manbocheonbo.’”
The joint health functional food market is expected to reach 300 billion KRW this year, with growing interest in joint health due to the aging population. Amicogen’s ‘Daegwanjeol Manbocheonbo’ is anticipated to become a new option for consumers who prioritize joint health.
