Gyeonggi Province is distributing 16 types of animated 3D emoticons featuring the provincial mascot 'Bonggong-i' for free.
The Bonggong-i emoticons being distributed this time feature scenes such as ▲Bonggong-i happy on payday ▲Bonggong-i working overtime ▲Bonggong-i leaving work on time, capturing the passionate and sometimes clumsy experiences of a rookie public official Bonggong-i. They are designed for use by office workers as well as people of all ages in everyday life.
The Bonggong-i emoticons will be available from 2 p.m. on the 25th through Gyeonggi Province's official KakaoTalk channel, provided on a first-come, first-served basis to a total of 95,000 people.
Gyeonggi Province explained that new subscribers to the official KakaoTalk channel or existing subscribers who temporarily block and then resubscribe to the channel will be able to download the emoticons. The emoticons can be used for free for 30 days from the time of download.
Lee Won-il, Director of Public Relations Planning for Gyeonggi Province, said, "Last year’s Bonggong-i emoticon distribution event attracted so much interest that it sold out within two hours of starting, so this year we have prepared a larger quantity. We will also introduce various contents using Bonggong-i, not just emoticons."
Bonggong-i’s name was created by vertically arranging the consonants of the core values of the 8th elected administration, ‘Change’ and ‘Opportunity’: ‘bieup (ㅂ) + hieut (ㅎ)’ and ‘giyeok (ㄱ) + hieut (ㅎ)’.
