Top Talent Gather!... Gwangjin-gu Opens New Recruitment for 60 Scholarship Students

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is selecting 60 new scholarship students for 202_ to help discover outstanding talents in the region.

The scholarship provides 1 million KRW per person for elementary, middle, and high school students, and 4 million KRW for university students. Previously, only high school and university students were selected, but this year the eligibility has been expanded. They plan to recruit 30 students from elementary to high school and 30 university students.

The selection categories are ▲General ▲Academic Excellence ▲Special Talent. General scholarship students are those from low-income households who meet the criteria. Academic Excellence scholarship applicants must be high school students with a GPA within the top 2 grades in the first semester of 2024 or university students with an average GPA of 4.0 (out of 4.5) or higher.

For Special Talent scholarships, students who have won awards in competitions at the city, county, or district level or higher are eligible. Elementary, middle, and high school students who have received awards in cultural, artistic, or athletic fields since 2022 can apply.

Applicants must have continuously resided in Gwangjin-gu for more than one year. However, those who were selected as Gwangjin-gu scholarship students last year or have received scholarships from other local governments or private organizations this year are excluded.

Applications must be submitted by visiting the local community service center with the required documents by the 26th of this month. The selection results will be individually notified at the end of August after qualification verification and review. The scholarship will be paid in two installments in August and December.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are recruiting scholarship students so that students with unlimited potential can realize their future dreams,” and added, “We will do our best to create an environment where they can focus on their studies and take on challenges without fear.”
