On the 22nd, JTBC's 'Incident Room' reported the story of consumer A, who bought three T-shirts from a Chinese online direct purchase platform on the 6th, then returned two after seeing the same product being sold cheaper on the platform. A used the app's free return policy to return some of the previously purchased clothes and ordered three more T-shirts from the cheaper seller.

The problem began when the seller from whom A returned the T-shirts sent a note containing abusive language. Seller B used the app's messaging service to send A a note with Korean curse words transcribed into English pronunciation. When A said, "Why are you cursing when I am returning items I bought at a higher price? I will use the app's report function," B responded, "You refunded all orders from my store. XX (a severe curse word spelled out in English pronunciation)," and confronted A. B also threatened, "Don't run too far. I have your address and contact information."

Angered by B's response, A applied to return the remaining one T-shirt. Upon learning this, B sent a chilling warning, saying, "You will receive something unpleasant." Feeling scared, A reported B to the app, but the representative only said, "We will strictly restrain them," without taking any significant action. Even after the report, B's verbal abuse continued. B sent threatening messages such as, "Do you want to become famous?" and "I will get you on Chinese news."

A said, "I am anxious because my phone number has been exposed," and added, "I haven't received anything from the seller yet, but I am afraid my number might be used for something strange." The app stated, "We are monitoring through a system that searches for profanity," and added, "If abusive language is detected, we impose penalties, hide products for a certain period, and take measures such as compensating affected customers."
