Airport Railroad-Malaysia ERL, Agreement to Strengthen Global Railway Cooperation

Direct Train-KLIA Ekspres Integrated Ticket Launch

Airport Railroad announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with Malaysia ERL (Express Rail Link) to strengthen global railway cooperation.

The agreement was signed the day before in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with Kim Jong-dae, Acting President of Airport Railroad, Nurma Mohammad Nur, CEO of ERL, and Yeo Seung-bae, Ambassador to Malaysia, in attendance.

ERL is Malaysia's only airport railway operator connecting Kuala Lumpur International Airport to KL Sentral station, operating the 'KLIA EKspres,' which stops only at major stations including KL Sentral and Airport Terminals 1 and 2, and the 'KLIA Transit,' which stops at all stations.

According to the agreement, both companies will strengthen railway operation capabilities and cooperate through integrated ticket promotion campaigns, promotion using online and offline media, and exchanges in management, marketing, customer service, and technology between the two countries.

Earlier, starting from the 15th, the two companies began selling integrated tickets on the travel platform KLOOK, allowing passengers to use both the Airport Railroad direct train and Malaysia's KLIA Ekspres with a single ticket.

Kim Jong-dae, Acting President of Airport Railroad, said, "Malaysia is an advanced railway country that has operated urban airports and express railways since 2002. This agreement will serve as a foothold for technical exchanges to improve railway services and ensure safe train operations between the two companies," adding, "We will continue to expand exchanges in various fields."

Nurma Mohammad Nur, CEO of ERL, expressed, "Through this agreement, travelers from both countries will be able to use trains more conveniently, which is expected to enhance the quality of travel."

Yeo Seung-bae, Ambassador to Malaysia, also stated, "With direct flights between Incheon and Kuala Lumpur operating 32 times a week and active human exchanges between the two countries, improving accessibility to the connecting railway between the airport and the city center will enhance convenience for the people of both countries."
