Jeongeup-si Holds 'Jeongeupcheon Nightscape Basic Plan Interim Report Meeting'

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it held an interim briefing session for the 'Jeongeupcheon Nightscape Basic Plan' the day before, aimed at creating a nightscape along Jeongeupcheon Stream and Jeongeup Station.

The Jeongeupcheon Nightscape Project is part of a larger initiative to develop Jeongeupcheon and Jeongeup Station into tourist attractions. The plan includes establishing a nightscape design for the bridges from Yeonjigyo to Sangdonggyo and installing various nightscape facilities at Jeongeup Station and along Jeongeupcheon.

During the briefing, discussions were held on creating symbolic light spaces reflecting Jeongeup's identity within the urban landscape around Jeongeupcheon, including ▲basic nightscape plans by district ▲lighting design for scenic spaces ▲selection of nightscape themes for each bridge ▲and improvement plans for cherry blossom road lighting.

Additionally, various discussions took place regarding nighttime attractions using lighting along the Jeongeupcheon waterfront and Jeongeup Station plaza, as well as discovering scenic spots to enjoy the natural nightscape of Jeongeupcheon.

This project is scheduled to complete the basic plan by September this year, followed by detailed design and administrative procedures, with full-scale implementation planned for 2025.

Mayor Lee Hak-su stated, “Through a nightscape that can represent Jeongeup, we will do our best to provide various attractions and sights along Jeongeupcheon to attract tourists and revitalize the surrounding commercial areas.”
