RS Automation, a specialist in robot motion control, is showing strong performance. The news that its ultra-compact capacitive encoder supplied to a domestic guided missile manufacturer has passed performance evaluation appears to be influencing its stock price.

As of 9:48 AM on the 24th, RS Automation is trading at 15,440 KRW, up 11.0% from the previous day.

Previously, in December last year, RS Automation developed the first ultra-compact capacitive encoder in Korea and the second in the world after Israel. They succeeded in domesticating the core components. The encoder is recognized as an essential part in the guided missile sector due to its excellent characteristics that overcome interference from vibration or radio waves, and it is also applied in Israel's Iron Dome.

RS Automation's capacitive encoder is a high value-added component capable of measuring ultra-precise angles and linear positions, and is 20% to 30% the size of typical encoders. Its electricity consumption is only about 10%. It is expected to be utilized in various future advanced industries such as premium mobile robots and ultra-compact drones, where low power consumption is essential.

The encoder that passed the performance evaluation is a high-resolution analog type, which is easy to customize. It will undergo testing by being actually mounted on the seeker of guided missiles in the future. Additionally, a more user-friendly digital type product is being prepared with the goal of completing performance evaluation by the end of the year.
