Kakao announced on the 24th that it has opened a special page on its portal Daum ahead of the '33rd Paris Olympics.'
The special page offers various information along with community services. Through the community services, users can cheer together and enjoy the Olympics more vividly. The special page can be accessed from the PC Daum homepage banner and the mobile Daum homepage.
The special page also provides a 'Home' section that gathers various information such as today's main matches and Paris news, a 'News' section offering real-time major news, and a 'Schedule & Results' section that organizes all match schedules and results including the South Korean national team. There is also a 'Medal Rankings' section showing the medal status of participating countries, and a 'Team Korea' menu that adds fun to cheering with Kakao Friends characters.
A summary service that allows easy checking of match results is also provided. The 'Good Morning Paris!' corner located at the top of the special page summarizes the national team's match news that occurred overnight. On the KakaoTalk channel 'Newsbot,' entering Olympic-related keywords provides related news and match information summaries.
Cheering spaces and events have also been prepared. On Daum Cafe's open community 'Table,' 18 cheering tables for each Olympic sport have been opened. Users can support the national team by sharing posts, videos, images, and more. The tables can be found at the bottom of the special page and Olympic-related Daum news articles. From the 25th to the 11th of next month, users who achieve a certain score through posting and commenting activities will be entered into a draw to win chicken exchange coupons.
Starting from the 26th, a 'Go! PARiS' tab will be opened in the KakaoTalk Open Chat tab as well. Four Open Chat Lite rooms will be launched for light and quick communication on various topics. Chat rooms such as 'News from Paris,' which shares real-time cheering and match predictions, 'If You Go to Paris,' featuring relay novels and virtual trips to France, and 'Chat Room Outside the Stadium,' where users talk about memorable Olympics or iconic scenes, have been prepared.
At the top of the tab, users can check Olympic news, medal rankings, and match schedules, and directly move to the Daum special page. Additionally, various Olympic-related open chat lists are available, allowing users to enter their desired chat rooms immediately.
Lee Dong-hoon, leader of Kakao Olympic TF, said, "We focused on enabling users to quickly and accurately access Olympic-related news when organizing the special page," adding, "We also prepared various community services that can raise interest and cheering enthusiasm for the Olympics and the national team."
