On the 24th, Seoul City announced that the 5th Public Housing Integrated Deliberation Committee conditionally approved the Jungnang Startup Support Center complex project in the area of 195-3 Sinnye-dong, Jungnang-gu.
This project involves constructing a complex facility combining the Jungnang Startup Support Center, job-linked support housing, and convenience facilities on the site of the Sinnye 3 District Startup Support Complex Facility land in Jungnang-gu. The building will be 2 basement floors to 12 floors above ground, with the Startup Support Center and community convenience facilities on the 1st and 2nd floors, and 141 job-linked support housing units above, which will be supplied to young entrepreneurs.
Job-linked support housing refers to housing designated when residential support linked to jobs is recognized as necessary to create youth employment and revitalize the local economy. The Jungnang Startup Support Center was selected as a candidate site for job-linked support housing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in July 2020.
The housing units are designed with exclusive areas of 31㎡ and 44㎡ for 1-2 person households. Small workspaces are also included within the units to support residents’ startup activities.
The Startup Support Center consists of spaces essential for entrepreneurs, such as coworking spaces, networking rooms, meeting rooms, a filming studio, editing rooms, and video conferencing spaces to support collaboration. Convenience facilities such as a fitness program room and community meeting spaces will also be created to promote the health and interaction of local residents.
Seoul City plans to start construction of the Jungnang Startup Support Center complex project in the second half of 2025, aiming for completion in 2028.
Han Byung-yong, Director of the Housing Office of Seoul City, said, "With the Jungnang Startup Support Center complex project passing the public housing integrated deliberation, it will become a place where the enthusiasm and innovative ideas of entrepreneurs come to life. Seoul City will continue to be a strong supporter for the housing stability and success of entrepreneurs dreaming of startup success."
