Vice Minister Yong Hoseong Meets with Representatives of Metropolitan and Basic Cultural Foundations

A forum will be established to find solutions for revitalizing local culture and arts. On the 24th, Deputy Minister Yongho Seong of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will meet with representatives of metropolitan and basic cultural foundations nationwide at the Alpensia Convention Center in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province to discuss current issues in local cultural and arts policies. They will seek policy directions to achieve balanced regional development through culture.

Deputy Minister Yong said, "Close cooperation between the central government, local governments, and cultural foundations must precede in order to respond to the crisis of regional extinction," adding, "We will continuously create opportunities for communication and cooperation among the central government, local governments, and the private sector."

After the meeting, Deputy Minister Yong will attend a session where the Korea Metropolitan Cultural Foundation Association and the National Regional Cultural Foundation Association discuss the establishment of an integrated corporation. The former is a federation of metropolitan cultural foundations nationwide, and the latter is a federation of basic cultural foundations.
