Recharging Youth Lives in Population-Declining Areas

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Recruiting Youth for 'Munhwa Jayu Classroom'

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council Korea are recruiting young people to participate in the 'Cultural Freedom Classroom' until the 5th of next month. Twenty-five participants will be selected through document screening and interviews.

Recharging Youth Lives in Population-Declining Areas

The Cultural Freedom Classroom is a place where young people interested in living in local communities explore new ways of life. It provides various humanities and cultural experiences in regions facing population decline. Activities include workshops with young people settled in the area, humanities lectures, writing workshops, poetry readings, film therapy, and humanities explorations of historic sites.

This year, the program will be held from September 1 to 12 in Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do. In October, it will be operated in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, targeting isolated and reclusive youth.

Lee Haedon, Director of Cultural Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We hope that young people will find a true way of life through rest, reflection, and various humanities programs."
