Yongin Citizens Can Use Sokcho Beach Parking Lot for Free

City Offers Discounts in 8 Sister Cities for Vacation Season

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it will offer various discounts on tourist facilities to citizens in domestic sister cities during the vacation season.

The exchange cities offering tourist discounts include eight cities and counties: Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk, Wando County, Jindo County, and Gwangyang City in Jeonnam, Sacheon City and Goseong County in Gyeongnam, Sokcho City in Gangwon, and Danyang County in Chungbuk.

In the case of Sokcho City in Gangwon, until the 25th of next month, visitors to Sokcho Beach can use the public parking lot for free. Visitors can receive a coupon at the South Gate Administrative Support Center of the beach and present it when exiting. Sokcho Municipal Museum offers a 50% discount on admission fees with no time limit.

Visitors to Jindo County in Jeonnam can enjoy free admission to five major tourist attractions: Unlim Sanbang, Sojeon Art Museum, Marine Ecology Center, Jindo Tower, and the Mysterious Sea Road Experience Center 4D Theater. Unlim Sanbang was the residence and painting site of Sochi Heo Ryeon, a late Joseon Dynasty painter and disciple of Chusa Kim Jeonghui.

Danyang County in Chungbuk offers a 50% discount to Yongin citizens at Ondal Tourist Site, Darian Tourist Site, Cheondong Water Playground, Dodamsambong Yellow Sailboat, Mancheonha Skywalk, and Gosudong Cave parking lot.

Visitors to the Dinosaur Museum and Danghangpo Tourist Site in Goseong County, Gyeongnam, can receive up to a 6,000 KRW discount on admission fees, and in Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, the Sacheon Sea Cable Car fare is discounted by 5,000 KRW.

Discount benefits for tourist sites in exchange cities can be found under the 'Yongin Introduction' section on Yongin City's website, specifically in the exchange city discount benefits. To receive the discounts, visitors must bring documents proving they are Yongin citizens (ID card, or family register for minors, etc.).

Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin said, "Since taking office, we have actively promoted intercity exchanges, establishing sister city relationships and joint cooperation with many domestic cities," adding, "We hope citizens enjoy the various benefits of the exchange cities and have small pleasures during this vacation season."
