23 Seongdong District Resident Auditors Appointed

Appointment of 23 Members for the 6th Term of Gumin Auditors, Education and Communication Meeting on Activity Methods Held
Expectations for Performing Duties in Various Areas Including Protection of Residents' Rights and Administrative Transparency Ensured

23 Seongdong District Resident Auditors Appointed

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) held the appointment ceremony for the 6th term Seongdong-gu Citizen Auditors on the 18th at the 8th-floor conference room of the district office.


The appointed 6th term Citizen Auditors consist of a total of 23 members, including 6 professional auditors in the fields of civil engineering, flood control, architecture, information and communication, parks and green spaces, and environment, as well as 17 general auditors with abundant interest and experience in district administration. Their term is two years, serving from July this year until June 2026.


The roles of the Citizen Auditors include ▲participating in the district’s self-audit and suggesting improvement measures ▲supervising public projects such as construction sites ▲proposing improvements to unreasonable laws and systems △suggesting corrections and handling plans for residents’ inconveniences, actively working to protect citizens’ rights and interests in various ways.


Last year, the 5th term Citizen Auditors participated in various activities such as inspecting flood preparedness, on-site comprehensive audits of health centers, observing and evaluating disaster response safety Korea training and integrity concerts, greatly contributing to the improvement of district administration activities.


After the appointment certificate presentation, education on the roles, responsibilities, and participation methods of the Citizen Auditors was conducted, and a communication session was also held to enhance understanding of the Citizen Auditors through Q&A.


Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "The role of Citizen Auditors is very important for the transparent operation of district administration. I hope you carefully examine local issues from the perspectives of experts from various fields and citizens, and actively provide opinions to improve any shortcomings.”
