Lee Jae-myung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, told Han Dong-hoon, the newly appointed leader of the People Power Party, "I expect the ruling party to work with the opposition to save the lives of people in crisis and prepare for the future in this era of great transformation."
On the 23rd, Lee posted on Facebook, "Congratulations to Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, on his election," expressing these sentiments.
He continued, "Although there is a ruling and opposition party in the National Assembly, in front of the people and their livelihoods, there is no distinction between ruling and opposition," adding, "Solving the people's issues of making a living, or 'Meoksanim'ism, is the most important responsibility of politics."
He also emphasized, "If it is about turning a desperate reality into a hopeful tomorrow, both I and the Democratic Party will certainly cooperate where cooperation is needed," and urged, "I ask that we join forces together."
