Seven Allegations Including Inspection During Prosecutor General Han Dong-hoon's Tenure

On the 23rd, the Joguk Innovation Party announced that it would propose the 'Double Special Prosecutor Act' to investigate allegations surrounding President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Geon-hee.

At a press conference held at the National Assembly on the same day, Park Eun-jung, a member of the Innovation Party, stated, "Despite various criminal allegations involving serious misconduct and state corruption by President Yoon and his spouse Kim Geon-hee, investigative agencies have instead continuously amplified public distrust."

Regarding the allegations against First Lady Kim, Representative Park said, "The investigation process related to the receipt of luxury bags includes suspicions of abuse of authority and dereliction of duty by prosecution officials due to omission of prior reporting, as well as allegations of Samboo Construction stock manipulation." She added, "There are also allegations of interference in personnel matters, including recommendations for the Minister of National Defense, involvement in high-ranking police personnel appointments, lobbying for the exoneration of Im Seong-geun, and attempts to elevate the rank of the Marine Corps commander."

Immediately after the press conference, she told reporters, "If the Democratic Party’s Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act is submitted to the Judiciary Committee tomorrow, the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor part of the double special prosecutor bill could be discussed together."
