Defamation Charges
A, the ex-girlfriend of professional basketball player Heo Ung (31), has filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Karakula (real name Lee Se-wook).
According to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul, A's legal representative, lawyer Noh Jong-eon, filed a complaint against Karakula on the 23rd for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. Lawyer Noh claimed that Karakula spread false information about A on his YouTube channel.
Karakula created and released a video featuring a whistleblower around the end of last month, during a dispute over allegations that Heo Ung threatened A, which included claims that "A worked at a bar."
A also filed a defamation complaint with the police against the individual appearing as the whistleblower in the video.
Karakula, who is also suspected of threatening the famous YouTuber Jjuyang, made all his videos private and suspended his activities the day before.
Meanwhile, the case in which A countersued Heo Ung for sexual assault has been transferred to the Yongin Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province.
