Ulsan Office of Education Achieves Highest School Accounting Execution Rate Nationwide for Three Consecutive Years

Performance Bonus of 3 Billion Won at 99.53% Achievement Rate for 2023 Academic Year

Secured Total of 10 Billion Won Through Financial Efficiency Efforts

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsu) has secured a performance bonus of 3 billion KRW by achieving first place nationwide for three consecutive years since the 2021 academic year in the field of school accounting fiscal execution for the 2023 academic year.

As of July 15, the school accounting fiscal execution rate for 244 schools under the Ulsan Office of Education in the 2023 academic year, as compiled by the Ministry of Education, was 99.53%. This exceeded the Ministry of Education's target of 98% by 1.53 percentage points, ranking first among the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide.

This achievement is the result of the Ulsan Office of Education systematically managing overall school accounting and the cooperation of individual schools.

To raise the fiscal execution rate of school accounts, the city office actively promoted the establishment of fiscal execution management plans at each school, rapid execution, intensive management of projects expected to have excessive carryovers or unused funds, preliminary settlement and execution rate monitoring, and on-site inspections and consulting support for school accounting.

Including the previously secured 5 billion KRW performance bonus for the execution of the special education budget, a 1 billion KRW performance bonus for fiscal execution in consumption and investment in the first half of the year, and a 1 billion KRW performance bonus for predicting net world surplus, a total of 10 billion KRW in performance bonuses has been secured through these efforts to improve fiscal efficiency.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "In 2024, we will continue to actively support efficient accounting operations at schools by further increasing the school accounting fiscal execution rate through systematic monitoring and management, and by expanding customized consulting for each school."
