About 10 BMC Employees Participate ... Practicing a Culture of Sharing

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) carried out a social contribution activity called 'Cool Summer Kimchi Support' on the 22nd to help provide meals and reduce the financial burden for seniors and vulnerable groups.

The 'Cool Summer Kimchi Support' activity is a project linked to the corporation's 'Citizen Participation Double Donation' social contribution initiative.

The 'Citizen Participation Double Donation' activity is a social contribution initiative in which Busan Metropolitan Corporation and Naver Happybean collaborate to match citizens' donations with the corporation's funds at a 1:1 ratio. When the fundraising goal is reached, the donations are delivered to organizations in need.

A total of 52,188,400 KRW was raised through fundraising for seven themed projects, with 8,501,400 KRW allocated to the 'Cool Summer Kimchi Support' project.

Using the raised donations, BMC, in cooperation with Dusong General Social Welfare Center, delivered 8kg of kimchi per household to 150 households residing in the Dadae 4 District permanent rental apartments, personally checking in on the residents.

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "I hope this kimchi support activity will provide some relief to our neighbors during this difficult time of high prices and high interest rates," and added, "We will continue our efforts to spread a culture of sharing through ongoing social contribution activities."
