The 'Dongduk Children's Humanities and Arts Program' is an educational volunteer activity program in which Dongduk Women's University students from various majors utilize their academic skills to provide humanities and arts classes to local youth. This program first started in the winter of 2022 and is now in its third session.
Participating students conduct classes related to their majors in collaboration with Seoul's 'Seongbuk Hub-type Our Neighborhood Care Center No. 5.'
On the 16th, the Social Service Center held an orientation with the participating Dongduk Women's University students. Kang Sumi, head of the Social Service Center, reviewed the four-week lesson plans prepared in advance by the students and provided feedback on each curriculum. The program is scheduled to run during the winter vacation in the second semester, and after its completion, the students' lesson plans will be published as a collection.
Center Director Kang said, "Through this program, mentees can improve their abilities and gain a sense of fulfillment from volunteering, while the students themselves will have an opportunity to further develop their academic skills."
