Among residents of Jongno-gu, Seoul, 8 out of 10 (78.9%) expressed the highest satisfaction with the 'culture' sector among the policies of the 8th local government administration.
Jongno-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced that a satisfaction survey conducted last month with 800 residents aged 18 and over, marking the 2nd anniversary of the 8th local government administration, showed a balanced increase in satisfaction across all sectors compared to last year.
By sector, the policy evaluation showed the highest score for 'Culture' (78.9%), followed by 'Safety & Innovation' (77.9%), and 'Parking & Urban Infrastructure' (77.3%). Notably, the 'Parking & Urban Infrastructure' sector, which scored a low 37% in last year's survey, surged to 77.3% this year.
This reflects recognition of efforts to enhance resident safety and convenience, including opening the Blue House parking lot and private parking lots, expanding public parking lots, and maintaining pedestrian paths and parks.
Regarding key policies of the 8th local government administration, the creation of the cultural tourism belt (82.9%), the restoration project of Tapgol Park (80.9%), and the establishment of the Jongno Welfare Foundation (78.8%) received favorable reviews.
As the administration passes its midpoint, residents requested stronger policy promotion (19.3%) and faster policy implementation (18.6%). In response, the district holds regular communication sessions with local seniors and community leaders, conducts on-site resident meetings during facility safety inspections, and promptly addresses various civil complaints.
Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “In the latter half of the 8th local government administration, we will continue to listen carefully to the voices of residents, big and small, and devote all efforts to implementing policies that residents want and can feel in their daily lives.”
Meanwhile, the survey was conducted via mobile from the 7th to the 11th of last month by the professional polling agency Jowon C&I, with a sampling error of ±3.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The district plans to use the objective measurement of resident evaluations on major policy tasks and priority areas as basic data for establishing future policy directions.
