Innovation Infrastructure Construction Project Report Meeting Held
DPG Hub Connection... Support for Service Development and Demonstration
The Digital Platform Government Committee and the Ministry of Science and ICT held a project briefing session for the realization of the Digital Platform Government on the 23rd at the Seoul office of the National Information Society Agency (NIA) in Mugyo-dong, Seoul.
Both organizations, together with NIA, have been carrying out the Digital Platform Government innovation infrastructure construction project since last year. On this day, the following were introduced: ▲DPG Integrated Testbed Operation Project ▲Data Lake Utilization Support ▲Agile and API Innovative Service Development Support Project. These are core tasks linked to the 'DPG Hub,' the top-level integrated platform of the Digital Platform Government, scheduled to complete its first phase in the first half of next year. The DPG Hub refers to a private cloud-based integrated platform that safely connects and enables the convergence and utilization of data and services from both the private and public sectors.
First, the DPG Integrated Testbed to be established this year will integrate and advance the separately built 'Testbed' and 'Data Lake' from last year. It supports creating an environment where small and venture companies, citizen developers, and officials from national and public institutions can easily and freely analyze data and develop innovative services using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and zero trust.
The DPG Integrated Testbed provides private cloud resources, various software development tools, AI model creation and training tools, and data analysis tools so that any citizen with an innovative idea can realize it as a single service. Along with this, professional technical support such as consulting, development, testing and verification support, education, and coaching will also be provided.
Data Lake Utilization Support is a project that creates innovative services by accumulating, processing, analyzing, and AI modeling sector-specific data using the DPG Data Lake based on private cloud. This year, services such as low birthrate and infertility care, traffic accident prevention, and small and medium-sized enterprise export support will be developed and demonstrated, with plans to expand the sectors further next year.
Agile and API Innovative Service Development Support is a project that supports the development of public innovative services by introducing agile development methodology and API technology. The four consortia selected for the project stated that as members of the DPG Testbed One Team, they will strive to create AI services that satisfy the public.
Agile methodology refers to a software development approach that divides a project into multiple small units to develop quickly and continuously improve. API means an interface that allows different software and systems to interact with each other.
At the event, private experts including members of the DPG Hub Task Force (TF) attended and exchanged various opinions on the operation plan of the integrated testbed based on the basic principles of the Digital Platform Government and the direction for innovative service development and demonstration through it. Related private and public officials reaffirmed their determination to successfully complete the DPG innovation infrastructure-related projects through the 'DPG AI Testbed One Team Launch Ceremony.'
