Full-Scale Entry into Indonesia... Hyundai Motor Forms 'Charging Alliance' with Local Companies

Established 'Hyundai EV Charging Alliance' with 6 Private Companies
Charge at 700 Stations with One App

Hyundai Motor Company is partnering with private businesses in Indonesia to establish an electric vehicle (EV) 'charging alliance.' Through Hyundai's application (app), users will be able to access charging facilities from multiple local companies.

On the 22nd, Hyundai announced at the 'Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2024' held in Jakarta, Indonesia, that it had formed the 'Hyundai EV Charging Alliance' on the 19th (local time) together with six local private charging companies.

Through this alliance, Hyundai's EV customers can conveniently use charging facilities from other companies within the alliance via the 'MyHyundai' app without needing to sign up separately or register payment methods. This is the first system in Indonesia that allows free use of multiple charging facilities through a single app.

The seven companies participating in the alliance operate a total of 696 EV charging stations across 429 locations in Indonesia. This accounts for approximately 97% of private EV chargers in Indonesia.

Additionally, Hyundai is launching an 'EV Charging Service Program' that provides new EV customers with 50 kWh of charging capacity per month for one year at charging stations affiliated with the alliance. The charging capacity provided through this program can be used starting next month.

Hyundai appears to be accelerating its efforts to capture the Indonesian market. Recently, Hyundai's plant in Indonesia began producing the Kona EV following the Ioniq 5. Having established an integrated production and sales system locally?from battery raw material procurement to the final EV product?Hyundai is now rapidly expanding its charging infrastructure as well. A Hyundai official stated, "As a leader in Indonesia's electric vehicle market, Hyundai will do its best to ensure customers can easily access products, services, and infrastructure."
