The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has partnered with NSI (New Society Institute), a specialized educational institution for future generations, to revitalize tourism in the province.
On the 23rd, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it attended the '2024 Public Talent School 2nd Enrollment Ceremony' held on the 20th at the Federation of Korean Industries Building in Yeouido, Seoul, as a sponsoring organization.
The Public Talent School is a program introduced last year by NSI (New Society Institute), a specialized educational institution for future generations, aimed at nurturing practical talents who possess a public mindset, focus on social issues, and seek solutions through proactive participation.
The newly selected students will monitor Gyeonggi Tour Line (EG Tour), the DMZ, and other tour programs for both domestic and international visitors in Gyeonggi Province. They will analyze the current tourism status and develop improvement plans for five areas within the province: Paju, Suwon, Gapyeong, Gimpo, and Pocheon.
In his welcoming speech at the enrollment ceremony, Cho Wonyong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, expressed his expectations, saying, "Gyeonggi Province, with a population of 14 million, is the largest local government in South Korea, where nature and urban areas coexist. It boasts various representative Korean tourist resources such as the DMZ, Everland, Korean Folk Village, and Petite France, while new tourist facilities like the Italian Village and Seohaerang Cable Car are continuously emerging. I believe your analysis of issues related to Gyeonggi's tourism resources and your policy ideas will be of great help."
