Recruitment for the 35th Gwanak Citizen University Course Students

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is partnering with Seoul National University to operate the "35th Gwanak Citizen University" starting August 14.

"Gwanak Citizen University" is a lifelong learning program jointly conducted by Gwanak-gu and Seoul National University to share Seoul National University's excellent human resources and high-quality educational content with the local community. Since 2005, the district has continuously operated the program amid strong interest from residents, producing 1,757 graduates to date.

Professors from the College of Education at Seoul National University directly teach at the Gwanak-gu Lifelong Learning Center, offering various liberal arts courses tailored to residents' perspectives, including ▲history and geography ▲science and health ▲literature and language.

In addition to regular classes, the program includes field trips such as visits to the Seoul National University Kyujanggak Institute and Museum to inspire residents' enthusiasm for learning. The district expects this to provide students with the joy of learning and serve as a lifelong learning platform fostering harmony through resident interaction.

The district issues certificates of completion, signed by the Mayor of Gwanak-gu and the Dean of the College of Education at Seoul National University, to all students who complete the entire curriculum. Graduates wishing to pursue advanced studies are also offered opportunities to enroll in the "Gwanak Graduate School for Citizens" and the "Executive Program."

The education program runs for a total of 15 weeks from August to December at the Gwanak-gu Lifelong Learning Center, with a tuition fee of 50,000 KRW.

Gwanak-gu residents can apply starting July 22, and residents from other districts can apply starting July 25 via the Gwanak-gu Office Education Portal (Gwanak-gu Office website - Education - Lifelong Learning).
