New Route Established for Bus No. 3324 to Address Residents' Requests in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu

Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will fully launch the new city bus route 3324 starting at 4:30 AM on August 5 to improve transportation convenience for residents of Pungnap-dong.

The newly established bus route 3324 passes through two districts, Songpa-gu and Gangdong-gu, operating along the route ▲Gangdong Public Garage (Gangil-dong) ~ ▲Godeok-dong ~ ▲Amsa-dong ~ ▲Cheonho Station ~ ▲Pungnap-dong.

Residents of Pungnap-dong have long suffered property rights infringements due to development restrictions such as cultural heritage protection zones, and especially faced significant inconvenience as public transportation was limited to only one bus route, number 4318, operating in one direction.

In response, the district has continuously requested Seoul City to expand bus routes in the Pungnap-dong area, a long-standing wish of the residents. As a result, the newly established bus 3324, linked to the extension of Subway Line 8 (Byeollae Line), will connect to the Pungnap-dong area and is scheduled to officially start city bus service from 4:30 AM on August 5.

Accordingly, local residents will now be able to travel directly by bus to major subway stations such as Cheonho, Amsa, and Amsa History Park Station.

A resident living in Pungnap-dong expressed anticipation about the new route, saying, “Before, I had to walk quite far to the main road to catch a bus, but now that a bus stop is right in front of my house and buses will soon be running, commuting will become much more convenient. I hope it opens soon.”

The establishment of city bus route 3324 was the result of significant efforts by the district to improve the inconvenience faced by public transportation underserved areas, including Pungnap-dong. Previously, District Mayor Seo Gang-seok pledged the creation of new village bus routes as part of his 8th-term election promises to enhance public transportation convenience and launched three village bus routes for the first time in Songpa-gu.

Additionally, the district extended city bus route 3323, which previously operated only to Bukwirye, to cover Bukwirye, Geoyeo, and Macheon areas, and increased the number of buses on the direct route 4319 between Jamsil and Daechi-dong academy districts.

Moreover, the district is increasing the number of village buses to shorten intervals between buses and is also expanding convenience facilities such as bus stop boarding platforms and BIT (Bus Arrival Information Terminals).

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Expanding public transportation means transportation welfare for residents,” and added, “Taking the establishment of the Pungnap-dong bus route, a long-awaited project for local residents, as an opportunity, we will carefully monitor to ensure there are no transportation underserved areas within Songpa-gu, improve the bus route system, and strive to enhance transportation welfare in Songpa-gu.”
