On the 22nd, Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, posted on social media (SNS) addressing suspicions of external pressure related to the death of Marine Corps soldier Chae Sang-byeong, conflicts between the medical community and the government over medical school enrollment increases, special treatment in the prosecution investigation of First Lady Kim Geon-hee, and controversies over the Prosecutor General being bypassed. He delivered a direct blow to President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "Let's stop unproductive politics and move toward a constitutional amendment to shorten the presidential term."

On the same day, Lee wrote on Facebook, "It has become routine for the president to be in a tug-of-war with the party leader, and our elite Marine Corps landing forces have turned into a situation where officers are pointing weapons at each other." He continued, "The medical community, which should be focused on saving lives, is now holding resignation letters and wearing headbands," adding, "Eventually, even conflicts between the Central District Prosecutors' Office and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office have occurred." This referred to the prolonged conflicts between the medical community and the government, as well as the controversies surrounding the investigation of the First Lady and the bypassing of the Prosecutor General.

Lee stated, "(These controversies) are all because of one person," and argued, "Instead of engaging in extreme confrontations through fast-track procedures and vetoes leading to unproductive politics, let's move toward a constitutional amendment to shorten the presidential term."

Meanwhile, in a May interview with SBS Radio, Lee said that for the ruling party to lead the political situation, it should advocate for a constitutional amendment to reduce the president's term. He said, "If we rationally address the accumulated demand for constitutional amendments so far, there might be a situation where the public pays attention again to the actions of the president and the ruling party," adding, "We could use such a card to leverage constitutional amendments."
