Children's Dreams Empowered Through Public-Private Cooperation
Book Purchase Support Provided for 50 Low-Income Children
Gijang-gun, Busan will be implementing the 'Dream Recharge Reading Journey,' a support program for children from low-income families, until October.
This initiative aims to provide learning opportunities for children from low-income families, reduce educational disparities, and foster future talent equipped with creativity and critical thinking skills by encouraging reading habits among children.
The reading journey, supported by the Sungwoo Hope Foundation, will be carried out by members of the local community security councils in towns and villages, who will identify around 50 children from low-income households and provide financial support for the purchase of books such as learning materials, self-development books, and general reading materials.
County Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "I hope this program will help children from low-income families develop healthy reading habits and grow up brightly," and added, "We will continue to promote various initiatives for low-income children based on close public-private cooperation."
