Visiting 104 Households to Deliver Letters, Holding Touring Concerts in 11 Eup and Myeon Areas
The 'Gunmin Happiness Dream Team' initiative led by Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is receiving great response from residents.
Composed of pairs of two public officials from each of the 11 towns and townships, this team visits residents' daily lives directly and delivers small happiness through various programs.
The flagship program, 'Talking About Happiness,' operates by delivering letters from family members living in other regions and filming response videos to them.
Up to July this year, the team has visited 104 households to facilitate communication among families, gaining popularity through word of mouth among participating residents.
This is regarded as a meaningful attempt to address family communication issues caused by aging and rural-to-urban migration.
An elderly participant in the program shared, "It was nice to have guests at home after a long time, and I am grateful just for their visit, but even more thankful for delivering the letters."
In addition, the Happiness Dream Team held a traveling concert called 'Kkokgalcon' in June to expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment.
Singers Jin Simon, Kwak Chang-seon, and Romina toured the 11 towns and townships, offering a special experience to elderly residents who usually find it difficult to enjoy cultural activities.
A Gokseong-gun official said, "The activities of the Happiness Dream Team are contributing to the emotional health and quality of life of residents," adding, "We will continue to strive to bring meaningful happiness to residents' daily lives."
Meanwhile, the Happiness Dream Team plans to continue its activities until the end of the year and is also planning a 'Happiness Photo Spread' in November, capturing life photos of village elders.
