Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 22nd that the 'Gardening City' design by Sia Plan Architects Office, Design Group Oz Architects Office, and The Hill E&C was selected as the result of the design competition for Seongdwi Village Public Housing District (A1).
Through this design competition, Seongdwi Village is planned to be developed so that gardens serve as a medium connecting houses, the village, and people. It is characterized by a design that allows residents to encounter new gardens continuously, from the smallest unit garden to the largest central plaza garden.
Following the selection in this design competition, SH Corporation will actively proceed with the Seongdwi Village Public Housing District project, which involves building 900 public housing units. The project aims to accelerate progress with business plan approval and construction commencement next year, targeting completion in 2028.
Kim Heon-dong, president of SH Corporation, stated, "We will overcome the north-facing terrain and plan in harmony with the surrounding natural environment, promoting the project in an eco-friendly manner." He added, "We will do our best to break away from the existing shantytown image and realize a garden city."
