Wando Maritime Police Station Conducts Safety Inspection of Local Beaches

Full Effort by Coast Guard Stations for Coastal Safety Week

Wando Maritime Police Station (Chief Lee Young-ho) announced on the 22nd that it inspected the safety of Myeongsashipri Beach, which recently opened for the summer peak season, and other beaches in the jurisdiction on the 20th.

On that day, they thoroughly checked not only safety factors but also the operational status of water leisure businesses, safety education for water leisure workers, and the condition of safety facilities.

This inspection was conducted in accordance with the law designating July 18 as 'Coastal Safety Day' and the third week of July as 'Coastal Safety Inspection Week.' Since the tragic accident in 2013 at a private marine corps camp in Taean, where five high school students died, emphasis has been placed on preventing maritime accidents.

Lee Young-ho, Chief of Wando Maritime Police Station, said, "We will always conduct thorough management to minimize risks," and added, "We ask everyone to wear safety equipment and follow safety rules while playing in the water."

Due to these efforts by the maritime police, it is expected that the possibility of safety accidents at beaches in the jurisdiction will decrease.
