Global cultural content marketing company Social Louder (CEO Son Narae, Choi Dongin) announced that it has completed the acquisition of the premium cosmetics brand 'I’mele'. Although the acquisition price has not been disclosed precisely due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), it is estimated to be over 10 billion KRW including running royalties.
I’mele developed the first cosmetics in Korea containing stem cell culture fluid by applying advanced technology from the bio company Centerpiece (CEO Sun Junmin). Since its launch in 2019, it has rapidly grown in popularity with high-quality skincare and makeup products based on natural ingredients and innovative formulas, achieving sales exceeding 10 billion KRW in 2021. Collaborating with Chinese Wanghongs, it produced various content that gained popularity, and secured placements in Lotte Department Store, Musinsa, and duty-free shops, establishing itself as a representative brand of K-beauty.
Centerpiece Bio is known as a company established for research and development purposes with a large number of doctors and personnel who participated in stem cell procedures and culture for former presidents, belonging to the top 1% in Korea. Based on its technological success in developing the country’s first serum-free medium, it is focusing on developing cell therapy technologies such as serum-free stem cells and NK cell culture.
Son Narae, CEO of Social Louder, said, “I was attracted to I’mele cosmetics enhanced with Centerpiece Bio’s stem cell technology,” adding, “The acquisition of the I’mele cosmetics brand will enable successful brand growth along with market share expansion in the beauty market as Social Louder expands globally.”
Meanwhile, Social Louder started as a comprehensive K-cultural content marketing company and has been active in cultural content areas such as film, OTT, and entertainment. From 2024, it is expanding its business to include fashion and beauty brands, striving to promote K-culture worldwide.
