Overseas Car Rentals Also Bookable via 'Kakao T'... Service Expanded to 100 Countries

Kakao Mobility, in partnership with mobility solution company IMS Mobility, will provide rental car reservation services in a total of 15 major overseas travel destinations, including ▲Japan ▲Guam, Hawaii, and American countries in the Americas ▲Italy, France, and some parts of Europe, popular among domestic travelers. It links various rental car products from global companies such as Hertz, Dollar, and ORIX Rent a Car, as well as local Korean businesses. The plan is to expand the service to about 100 countries by the first half of next year.

Kakao T users can select the 'Overseas Rental Car' icon in the travel tab within the Kakao T app, then enter the country, rental and return locations, and schedule to check available products such as vehicle models and options, usage fees, and insurance coverage. The usage fee is set according to the policies of local companies in each country. It operates at the same online advance reservation rates as the linked rental car companies.

Kim Jaehyun, head of the Driving & Travel division at Kakao Mobility, said, "With just one Kakao T app, users can compare products from various companies, make reservations, and payments all at once, greatly alleviating the inconveniences that occur when booking rental cars overseas." He added, "We will support seamless mobility overseas through the diversification of global services."
