On a Summer Night at Hwangsan Park, Over 3,000 Visitors Enjoy Jazz Melodies
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam successfully held the '2024 Jazz Festa' at the central plaza of Hwangsan Park on the 20th.
This event, supported by Gyeongnam Province and Yangsan City and organized by Busan Ilbo, aimed to expand the cultural and artistic landscape by hosting a professional jazz performance rarely seen in the region, and to provide citizens with an opportunity to relax freely.
Although sudden rain and wind swept through the area on the morning of the event, quick on-site preparations allowed the pre-show to begin as scheduled at 4:30 PM. According to the organizers, around 3,000 citizens and tourists visited the venue and enjoyed a safe and exciting jazz festival.
The pre-show was opened by the LIVE rock band from Yangsan Youth Center and The Next rock band from Soju Youth Culture House, captivating the audience with their unique freshness and brightness. Indie band Burning Soda then delivered a passionate performance that further engaged the crowd.
The main concert, which began after the opening declaration, featured professional jazz bands such as Jazzdae Hangma, GPT-Dr, and Seo Minjin Band, who created a romantic atmosphere with beautiful performances and songs in harmony with the audience. During the special appearance by singer Monday Kiz for the finale, the audience stood up and became one with the music, creating a scene truly worthy of a festival's grand finale.
This event not only showcased a variety of performances over four hours, but also operated food trucks and experience booths near the stage. In addition, an electric ferris wheel tour under Hwangsan Overpass allowed visitors to explore the entire park, making it a midsummer night festival that delighted the eyes, ears, and taste buds of all attendees.
Mayor Na Dongyeon said in his welcoming speech, "Jazz is said to mean 'freedom.' I hope that everyone who visited the Jazz Festa today will enjoy true freedom within the melodies of jazz, without being tied down by anything."
