Hong Jin-kyung Confesses "Experienced Racism on Flight to Europe"
"Main Course Served Instead of Appetizer... Ignored Despite Complaints"
Model-turned-broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung revealed that she experienced racial discrimination while boarding a flight to Europe.

On the 19th, a video titled "Hong Jin-kyung Properly Dancing 'European Dance' at a Hot Club in Paris (Racial Discrimination, Paris Olympics)" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Study King Genius Hong Jin-kyung,' operated by Hong Jin-kyung. In the video, Hong Jin-kyung shared that she faced racial discrimination while receiving an in-flight meal in the business class of a European airline.
Hong Jin-kyung said, "They gave all the other passengers appetizer salads, but brought me (the main dish) salmon," and added, "When I complained to the flight attendant, asking why I was given only the main dish without the appetizer, they just shrugged their shoulders and ignored my request," recounting the situation.

In response to Hong Jin-kyung's confession, the production team expressed anger, saying, "What happened to our senior (Hong Jin-kyung) means 'Go f*** yourself,'" and added, "Where else do they not even show the in-flight meal menu to passengers in business class?"
Hong Jin-kyung is not the only celebrity who has suffered emotional distress due to racial discrimination. Hwang Hee-chan, a football player for Wolverhampton, heard a racial slur "Jackie Chan" from an opposing player during a practice match against Como 1907 (Italy) held in Marbella, Spain, on the 16th.
In response, teammate Daniel Podence became enraged and punched the opposing player, resulting in his ejection from the game. Wolverhampton stated, "During the second half, Hwang Hee-chan informed the team about the racial slur, and the Wolverhampton players were furious," and explained, "Manager Gary O'Neil spoke with Hwang Hee-chan after the incident and gave him the option to leave the match, but Hwang chose to continue playing."
Manager O'Neil said, "Channy (Hwang Hee-chan's nickname) heard a racial slur," and added, "I talked with Channy about it and checked whether the whole team should stop the match or if only Hwang wanted to leave. Hwang wanted to stay with the team and let his teammates do what they needed." He continued, "It is truly disappointing that such an incident occurred. (Racial discrimination) affected the game and should never happen," and praised, "Hwang was deeply disheartened, and I understand that. I am proud that despite being in a difficult situation, Hwang thought of the team and kept playing."
