A man in his 50s was arrested by the police for driving a passenger car under the influence and crashing into a commercial building in Incheon.
On the 21st, the Michuhol Police Station in Incheon announced that they have booked Mr. A, a man in his 50s, without detention on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act and are currently investigating.

Mr. A is accused of driving his sports utility vehicle (SUV) while intoxicated on a side road near Yonghyeon Market in Michuhol District at around 6:50 p.m. that day and crashing into the first floor of a commercial building. The accident damaged the glass door of a mill, but fortunately, there were no casualties as the store was closed at the time of the accident.
Immediately after the accident, police who responded to a resident's report apprehended Mr. A in the vehicle. At the time of arrest, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was above 0.08%, the level for license cancellation. Mr. A reportedly stated that "the steering wheel suddenly became uncontrollable."
A police official said, "Mr. A was intoxicated and was first sent home," adding, "We plan to summon Mr. A again soon to investigate the detailed circumstances of the accident."
