Kia is recruiting Ball Kids who will participate in the '2025 Australian Open' held in Melbourne, Australia, in January next year, from the 22nd of this month until the 21st of next month.
'Ball Kids' are young players who assist the match by handling and supplying balls on the court during tennis matches, playing a role in ensuring smooth match operations.
The finally selected Ball Kids will participate as part of the matches at the '2025 Australian Open' held in Melbourne, Australia, in January 2025, and will spend about three weeks including participating in local cultural experiences provided by Kia.
Kia is the longest-standing sponsor of the Australian Open, one of the four major tennis Grand Slam tournaments with the highest level of prestige. Kia has continued its sponsorship for 23 years since the 2002 tournament and selects 20 representative Ball Kids from South Korea every year.
Children or grandchildren of customers who own Kia vehicles (including purchase, long-term rental, lease, and used cars) who are South Korean nationals aged 12 to 15 as of January 1, 2025 (born between January 2, 2009, and January 1, 2013) and have no disqualifications for overseas travel are eligible to apply.
Applications can be made on the Kia Ball Kids website, and 20 Ball Kids will be finally selected through an English proficiency test to assess communication skills necessary for the Ball Kids role, a knowledge test on tennis rules, and a practical ability test to check athletic skills.
A Kia official said, "The Kia Ball Kids program has established itself as a tennis program that offers a special experience to young people who love tennis," and added, "We ask for a lot of interest in this special opportunity to participate as Ball Kids representing our country at the Australian Open."
