International Economy Class Passengers to Receive Services Starting July
Hollys announced on the 22nd that it has signed a coffee bean supply contract with Korean Air to meet global customers.
Starting in 1998 as Korea's first espresso specialty store, Hollys grew by roasting coffee beans tailored to Korean tastes from its early days. Based on 26 years of operational know-how, Hollys entered the Japanese market in May to verify the competitiveness of K-coffee in the global market. Following this, from July, it will expand its touchpoints with global customers by supplying coffee beans to Korean Air's international flights.
Korean Air began searching for new suppliers at the end of last year to provide higher quality service to international passengers. After multiple tasting tests under various conditions to ensure the best flavor for customers, Korean Air selected Hollys as its supplier. Additionally, Hollys’ roasting center, capable of roasting over 1,700 tons of coffee beans annually, and its research staff including internationally certified coffee graders (Q-Graders) were also decisive factors.
The ground coffee beans Hollys provides to Korean Air are blended with raw beans from Central and South America, boasting a rich body and optimal balance. To suit a wide range of preferences, the coffee enhances nuttiness, finishes with moderate sweetness and pleasant acidity. Notably, the coffee’s deep flavor lasts long, allowing customers to enjoy its richness even as it cools. Coffee brewed from Hollys beans will be served in economy class on Korean Air’s medium- and long-haul international flights starting in July.
A Hollys representative said, “We are delighted to partner with the world-renowned airline Korean Air to offer the Hollys coffee experience to global customers,” adding, “Hollys will continue to meet customers not only in stores but also through various channels, striving to establish itself as the representative K-coffee brand globally.”
