Ulsan City Achieves Top Excellence for Three Consecutive Years in 'Intelligent Factory Distribution Project'

Ministry of SMEs and Startups Receives Top Rating in Performance Evaluation

Contribution to Manufacturing Innovation Competitiveness and On-site Smart Ecosystem

Ulsan City announced on the 22nd that it received the highest grade in the performance evaluation of the '2023 Smart Factory Distribution and Expansion Project' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

This marks the third consecutive year that Ulsan has achieved the top grade, solidifying its status as a leading city in smart manufacturing innovation.

The 'Smart Factory Distribution and Expansion Project' is an initiative to build advanced, human-centered smart factories that integrate all production processes from product planning to sales using ICT (Information and Communication Technology), enabling the production of customized products for customers with minimal cost and time.

Last year, Ulsan City selected 15 local companies and provided a total of 1.29 billion won in support, including 490 million won in national funds and 800 million won in city funds.

The city received high marks for identifying the current status and issues of local companies through demand surveys, providing customized support, and making efforts in post-management and problem-solving.

A city official stated, "We will do our best to promote the Smart Factory Distribution and Expansion Project to lead the digital transformation of local SMEs' manufacturing sites, enhance manufacturing innovation competitiveness, and create an intelligent manufacturing ecosystem."

According to a recent survey conducted by Ulsan City on 117 companies that have completed smart factory construction in the Ulsan region over the past five years, results showed a 170% improvement in quality, a 148% reduction in costs, and a 108% increase in productivity. These achievements have also led to improvements in business management, such as increased sales.
