The Guro District Residents Award is an honor established to recognize and reward residents who have dedicated themselves to public service and the development of the local community. This year marks the 34th edition of the award.

The district will select recipients across 13 categories, including volunteer work, filial piety, culture and arts, education, community sports, local community development, safety, economic development, environment, intercultural relations, proud parents, peace and reunification, and special categories.

Eligibility requires that nominees have resided in Guro District for at least three years as of the award date, September 27, 2024, and be recommended by one of the following: two or more district council members, 20 or more residents, heads of relevant organizations or associations in each category, principals of local elementary, middle, and high schools or presidents/chancellors of universities, or the heads of each neighborhood office (recommendations from five or more leaders of functional organizations are required).

Previous recipients of the Guro District Residents Award for the same achievements are not eligible for duplicate awards.

To nominate a candidate, submit the recommendation letter, achievement report, and other application documents in person by 6 p.m. on August 20 to the Guro District Office’s Autonomous Administration Division or the local neighborhood community center of the nominee’s residence.

Submissions by mail or email are also accepted.

The district will select the final awardees through a review process by the Achievement Review Committee and plans to present the awards at the opening ceremony of the '2024 Guro G Festival' on September 27.
