People Power Party, Midterm Tally of Voting Rate for July 23 Party Convention

The voter turnout for the July 23 party convention to elect the next leader of the People Power Party reached 45.98% as of the third day of voting on the 21st. The final turnout is expected to be in the high 40% range or low 50% range.

According to the People Power Party, the combined turnout rate of the mobile voting conducted from the 19th to the 20th (40.47%) and the automatic response system (ARS) voting rate for those who did not participate in mobile voting, which started on the same day, was calculated at 45.98% (386,980 out of 841,614 eligible voters). This is 7.15 percentage points lower than the turnout rate on the third day of last year’s March 8 party convention (53.13%).

The People Power Party will continue ARS voting for party members and a public opinion poll among the general public until the 22nd. This party convention election consists of 80% party member votes and 20% general public opinion poll.

All voting results will be combined and the winner will be announced at the party convention held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province on the 23rd. If no candidate among the representative candidates receives a majority of votes, a runoff vote will be held between the first and second place candidates, and the final result will be announced on the 28th.
