279 Illegal Poster Prevention Boards Installed in Wangsimni Doseondong, Geumho 4-ga Dong, Seongsu 1-ga 2-dong to Prevent Illegal Flyer Pollution
District Mayor Jeong Wono: "Will Continuously Expand Installation of Illegal Advertisement Prevention Boards and Implement Illegal Mobile Advertisement Collection Reward System to Create a Pleasant City"
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it has completed the installation of 279 anti-illegal advertisement attachment panels on public facilities such as streetlights and utility poles to improve urban aesthetics and create pleasant streets.
To address the issue of public facilities like streetlights and utility poles being contaminated by illegal flyers and posters, the district began installing anti-illegal advertisement attachment panels in April.
As a result of proactive measures, the installation of attachment prevention panels was completed on 279 public facilities including streetlights and utility poles in three neighborhoods: Wangsimni Doseon-dong, Geumho 4-ga-dong, and Seongsu 1-ga 2-dong.
The district also paid close attention to the design of the attachment prevention panels. It actively collected diverse opinions and demands from residents while designing the panels to harmonize with the surrounding landscape and reflect the unique characteristics of each neighborhood.
The attachment prevention panels installed in Geumho 4-ga-dong particularly attract attention by embodying the work of artist Kim Hong-do themed on the old name of Geumho-dong, "Museomak." The exterior uses a dark gray color to enhance aesthetics while minimizing aging to ensure long-term maintenance.
To maintain the attachment prevention panels and urban cleanliness, the district is also implementing a ‘Reward System for Collecting Illegal Mobile Advertisements.’ Local residents who collect illegal banners and posters and submit them to the community service center receive compensation based on the type and quantity of items.
Additionally, continuous guidance and enforcement against illegal advertisements are conducted to provide residents with a pleasant urban environment.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "The installation of anti-illegal advertisement attachment panels plays a significant role in creating a clean city," and added, "We will expand the installation of these panels in the future to make Seongdong-gu even more pleasant and livable."
