Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, is making lunchboxes to support young people living alone together with the Volunteer Federation, Youth Volunteer Group, and district executives at the shared kitchen ‘Hamkke Cook Cook’ in Yeongdeungpo-dong on the morning of the 20th.
The district is preparing lunchboxes consisting of healthy meals such as ‘chicken breast salad’ and ‘fruit’ to support young people living alone who are facing difficulties such as employment difficulties, jeonse fraud, and feelings of isolation, and will deliver them to 100 young single-person households in the area.
In particular, the young people participating in this event are those who usually contribute their talents by providing cooking lessons and sharing food, showing camaraderie by accompanying peers of the same generation, adding to the emotional impact.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, “It is heartbreaking that our youth, who will lead a hopeful future, are experiencing various social difficulties.” He added, “We will actively support young people, the pillars of our society, so that they can dream and realize a hopeful future by discovering quality jobs and implementing measures to eradicate jeonse fraud.”
