[Tomorrow's Weather] Rain Nationwide... Possible Heavy Rain Warnings in Parts of Chungcheong and Northern Gyeongbuk

Daytime High Temperatures 27~33°C... Heatwave Following Rain End

On Sunday the 21st, rain is expected in most parts of the country. Due to the influence of the stationary front, rain is likely to fall mainly in areas that have already experienced heavy rainfall.

From the night of the 20th, very heavy and intense rain will fall in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province, and from the early morning of the 21st, in the Chungcheong region and northern Gyeongbuk, with the possibility of heavy rain warnings being issued in some areas.


Rain in Jeju Island is expected to mostly stop in the morning of the 21st, and in the southern regions in the afternoon. The Chungcheong region may experience a lull in rainfall at night.


Expected rainfall from the 20th to the 22nd is 50?120 mm (over 150 mm in some areas) in the Seoul metropolitan area, 30?100 mm (over 120 mm in some areas) in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, 5?30 mm on the Gangwon East Coast, and 50?100 mm (over 150 mm in northern Chungnam and northern Chungbuk) in the Chungcheong region.


In the Jeolla region and northern Gyeongbuk, 30?80 mm (over 100 mm in Jeolla and over 120 mm in northwestern inland Gyeongbuk) is expected; 20?60 mm in Daegu, southern Gyeongbuk, and inland Gyeongnam; 5?40 mm in Busan, Ulsan, and the southern coast of Gyeongnam (on the 20th), and Ulleungdo and Dokdo (on the 21st); and 5?20 mm in Jeju Island (from the 20th to the 21st).


The maximum hourly rainfall intensity is expected to be 30?50 mm from the night of the 20th to the morning of the 21st in the Seoul metropolitan area, 30?50 mm from the night of the 20th to the morning of the 21st in Gangwon Province, and 30 mm in Jeonbuk and northern inland Gyeongbuk from early morning to morning on the 21st.


The morning low temperature is forecast to be 23?27°C, and the daytime high temperature 27?33°C.


For the time being, in areas under heatwave warnings such as the Gangwon East Coast, southern mountainous areas of Gangwon, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island, the maximum apparent temperature is expected to rise above 33°C (above 35°C in eastern Jeju), making it very hot. In most other parts of the country, the maximum apparent temperature is predicted to be around 31°C.


Although temperatures will temporarily drop when it rains, after the rain stops, temperatures will rise during the day under high humidity, making it hot and humid. Tropical nights are also expected in many parts of the country.


Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' across all regions.


Sea waves will be 0.5?2.0 m in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5?2.5 m in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5?1.5 m in the South Sea coastal waters.


Wave heights in the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline) are predicted to be 1.0?2.5 m in the East and West Seas, and 0.5?2.0 m in the South Sea.
