Oil tanker suspected of transporting 'Iranian crude oil' collides in Singapore Strait

Two ultra-large oil tankers collided in the Singapore Strait.


On the 19th (local time), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore announced that a Singapore-flagged oil tanker and a S?o Tom? and Pr?ncipe-flagged oil tanker collided at sea 55 km northeast of Pedra Branca Island in the Singapore Strait.


All 62 crew members aboard the two oil tankers were safely rescued, and no crude oil leakage has been confirmed so far.


Meanwhile, the S?o Tom? and Pr?ncipe-flagged oil tanker involved in the collision is suspected of repeatedly violating U.S. sanctions by transporting Iranian crude oil.
